Social Listening: Duolingo Bird is Dead!

Image
Duolingo is a popular app used to teach people a new language of choice. If you take a look at their social media posts, they are very active and interesting. Their mascot the “Duolingo bird” has become very popular over time. I personally have used Duolingo for school and even just on my own time and each time I have been pretty impressed in how their system is set up. They have Instagram, TikTok and. Facebook, although I’ve only stumbled across their TikTok mostly, which has about 17 million followers. They post fairly often and each video more creative than the next. The way they respond to their followers is very different than other companies I see. I often see them respond in sarcastic manners, or as if they are texting a friend of theirs. I was scrolling on TikTok one day and I came across this video of a random girl, it was just a picture of her with the words, “DUOLINGO BIRD IS DEAD?!” And as I opened the comments of that video, I see many people had seen this TikTok Duolingo ...

Hello! My name is Kimberly! I am 20 years old, in my second year here at LBCC. I recently have switched my major to marketing because I have always found social media marketing and marketing in general to be very interesting. I am currently working two jobs (Burgerville and Claire's in Albany) right now that I both enjoy and am good at. I often have to use a lot of advertising when it comes to seasonal items at Burgerville or trying to upsell on ear piercings at Claire's. When the Claire's in Lebanon was still open, I ran the social media account and I really enjoyed that a lot. I am not the main person who runs the Albany account because Claire's is more of my second "extra money" job now, but I do help out with ideas when needed. I'm very excited to learn more about marketing and using these skills to help out more within both my jobs and eventually work my way up. Outside of school and work I enjoy photography, hanging out with friends, and traveling. ...
