Micheal was a Hee-Hee Hit!

 On April 24th, 2026, the new Micheal Jackson Biopic came out. I personally went and saw it twice, it was a great movie. It reminded me a lot of my childhood when my mother would turn on Micheal Jackson as we cleaned the house.  I seem to not be the only one who agrees because after the movie came out, a couple

of his songs like "Billie Jean", "Human Nature", and "Don't Stop Till You Get Enough" are back in the Top 20 of Global songs on Spotify! Let's be honest, most of those streams were by me. 

According to CNBC, "As of Thursday, Jackson sits at roughly 53% on having the No. 1 song this month with artists like Drake and Olivia Rodrigo leading." 

The movie also grossed with over $100 million stateside, and over $400 million worldwide. This made it the no. 2 most watched biopic under "Bohemian Rhapsody". 

I'd have to admit, their marketing for this movie was genius. On LionGate's Tiktok, I noticed edits of the movie which were fun and reached the younger audiences. I noticed various other people on TikTok also dressed up as Micheal while going to the movie, which brought more attention to the movie being out, as well as Micheal Jackson's music. With his songs like "Human Nature" and "Beat it" currently trending, it was bound to bring more attention. I found it to be wholesome as I see younger generations learning the dances to Micheal Jackson's songs and posting them, it's almost like his music is bringing us all together again.

Their mascot the “Duolingo bird” has become very popular over time. Marketing in the News: Subway and PepsiCo

  I chose to write about Subway hiring the CMO from PepsiCo beverages to lead global marketing because when I was looking through topics to write about, this one stood out to me. I love eating at Subway and I love a nice can of Pepsi, so I was interested in seeing what was going on between PepsiCo and Subway. This article starts off by talking about how Subway has appointed former PepsiCo beverages marketer Greg Lyons. Greg Lyons departed from PepsiCo last month around the same time the Pepsi brand has started struggling to grow their market share.  Hello! My name is Kimberly! I am 20 years old, in my second year here at LBCC. I recently have switched my major to marketing because I have always found social media marketing and marketing in general to be very interesting. I am currently working two jobs (Burgerville and Claire's in Albany) right now that I both enjoy and am good at. I often have to use a lot of advertising when it comes to seasonal items at Burgerville or trying to upsell on ear piercings at Claire's.
